Dr Phil Anderson D.Prof., BA (Hons), FNI, MCIArb., MEWI, AMAE, Master Mariner Dr Anderson is a Master Mariner having spent his first career at sea with the Bibby Line of Liverpool. He came ashore in 1980 and worked for the next 25 years in P&I Clubs initially handling claims but then pioneered loss prevention and proactive claims reduction initiatives as part of the service provided by the Clubs. Dr Anderson is widely regarded internationally as one of the worlds leading authorities on the ISM Code. During the last six years he has been appointed Consultant or Expert Witness in over 130 legal cases around the world including commercial disputes, civil claims and criminal prosecutions. He has a number of books in print on the ISM Code and related matters and is also heavily involved in maritime safety and risk management related training. |

Steve Cameron AFNI Steve Cameron joined RTI and MARC in 2011 as Marine Director, focusing on business development for the marine sector and associated services. He brings experience in global marine transport logistics, liner shipping, ports and terminals and executive selection, training and mentoring. Prior to joining RTI and MARC, Mr. Cameron was founder and principal of Cameron Maritime Resources (CMR), a consultancy providing research, development, training, mentoring and recruitment for the maritime industry with a particular focus on Africa. Earlier, Mr. Cameron was part of a management team that successfully developed and ran for 20 years, a specialized ro-ro/container line between Europe and West Africa, where safety and risk management were essential for the success of the business. Mr. Cameron began his career at Cunard Cargo Shipping, serving in various roles at sea and ashore. He is an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute, and a member of; the Chamber of Shipping, Society of Maritime Industries (Ports and Terminals Group), Anchorites, Royal African Society and a Director of Business Council for Africa. |

Les Chapman BEng, MBA, CMarTech, FIMarEST, FICPEM, AFNI, MSyI Les Chapman is the Managing Director of Marine Accident & Risk Consultants (MARC) Ltd., which specialises in marine safety and risk management. Mr. Chapman is also Chief Operating Officer of RTI and is directly responsible for the overall operation and management of RTIs European, Central and South American, and Middle East businesses covering aviation, marine, rail, nuclear, and other energy industries. Mr. Chapman is a global marine professional with more than 30 years of business development, operations, security, and management consulting experience in the maritime and transportation infrastructure environments. He has spoken and written articles on a wide range of topics from business risk and contingency planning to government and agency policy on security and maritime matters. |

Captain Andrew Mitchell Following a long career with Shell Tankers and Shell Exploration, Andrew established a successful safety and loss management consultancy in Aberdeen which was acquired by Lloyds Register. As a senior manager with LR, he held corporate responsibility for marine management system certification, chaired the IACS working groups on the ISM and ISPS Codes, represented IACS at the IMO and ILO and is a past member of the Advisory Board to CHIRP. He is currently providing Expert Witness services on an international basis. |

Joseph R Reynolds PE, MEWI, MAE Mr. Reynolds is internationally recognized as a major casualty forensic engineering investigator and expert witness. He is an authority regarding the reconstruction and analysis of aircraft accidents, fires, utility equipment failures and accidents, and systems reliability research and safety studies, as well as forensic investigation training, emergency response preparedness scenarios, major casualty litigation, and continuing education programmes. He has given evidence to governmental boards and commissions, international arbitration hearings, and various courts of law. Prior to his work in forensic engineering Mr. Reynolds was involved in military COMINT operations and research with the USAF airborne EWCM systems. |

Dr Phil Anderson and ConsultISM continue to provide Expert Witness services to the maritime industry with a specific emphasis on accident causation and the relevance of safety management systems. During the last seven years Dr Anderson has been instructed in nearly 150 legal cases ranging from collisions, groundings, explosions, pollutions, fatalities and similar types of incidents where he has gained a unique exposure to the way in which lawyers will try and use the ISM Code as a powerful sword to attach a ship operator with or a strong shield with which a ship operator can defend itself.
